General Imaging Debuts Its First Waterproof Camera

GE G3WP Waterproof Digital Camera

Here’s the waterproof GE G3WP compact digital camera: beyond its 12-2 megapixels, 4x zoom and 2.7-inch LCD, this little camera can dive down to 10 feet of water, according to General Imaging.

We’re not sure if we can take it out to sea and dive in with the sharks, but the company says the G3WP is “perfect for backyard pool parties or weekends at the lake.”

As with the other cameras in the 2009 GE lineup, the G3WP offers Auto Scene Detection and Pan-Capture Panorama among its many advanced features. Auto Scene Detection automatically determines the appropriate scene type and optimizes exposure for sharp, vibrant pictures. Pan-Capture Panorama lets the user pan the camera across the scene while the engine automatically captures, determines overlap, and stitches the frames into a single panoramic picture.
