Fujifilm: You Camera Shy? Get a Tip from Us

Survey said: most people are camera shy (73% women, 50% men). So what’s that got to do with Fujifilm’s face detection technology?

Nothing. They just want to you to ride on that magic carpet of a survey to fly to their new website touting and explaining their newfangled FD tech. Which is really not all that bad, because if you’re patient enough to wade through some hokey advice (“think happy thoughts” when in front of a camera), you’ll find some gems like pro photog James Ferrara’s advice to raise the subjects’ chin just so, to add some sparkle or catch light in their eyes.

But Fuji really did make a survey, which showed that people would rather do the laundry (44%), pay bills (34%) or even visit their dentist (18%) than pose for a picture.

Me? Oh, take my picture anytime. I’m as photogenic as Ed Hidden.
