The Fujifilm FinePix F50fd is now available for $250, street, from its previous price of $300 when it debuted in September 2007. Also slashing its price by $50 is the Z10fd which can now be bought for $150, was $200 in Sept. The price reductions took effect last Sunday, February 3.
The 12-megapixel F50fd features Face Detection 2.0, Dual Image Stabilization and boasts up to ISO 6400 light sensitivity. With that much megapixels packed in a 1/16†CCD sensor, think I’d still reach for the trusty 6MP F31fd for low-light shots.
The Z10fd has an even smaller 1/2.5†CCD sensor, packing 7.2 million pixels. It also features Face Detection (that’s what the fd stands for), IrSimple InfraRed communication and a Blog Mode to make it easy to post pictures on websites. Fujifilm says the Z10fd comes in colors and a style that will make fashionistas proud.
