Fujifilm FinePix F50fd Gets a Thumbs Up from Popular Science

Fujifilm FinePix F50fd Digital Camera

Fujifilm USA says their little FinePix F50fd digital camera is the recipient of a 2007 Best of What’s New award in the Gadget category of Popular Science magazine.

The magazine cited the F50fd as “the first camera that can detect faces —to optimize focus, exposure and color—even if people are turned to the side or looking up or down.” There was of course the F31fd before it if we’re talking face detection, but you have to face the camera.

Fujifirmo-san is mighty proud of its F50fd, saying, “Their recognition of the technical innovations in our FinePix F50fd, further reinforces Fujifilm’s culture of photography.”

Popular Science’s Best of What’s New awards are presented each year to 100 new products and technologies in 10 categories: Automotive, Aviation & Space, Computing, Engineering, Gadgets, Green Tech, Home Entertainment, Home Tech, Personal Health and Recreation.
