Fujifilm Bares Details of Digital 3D Camera System

FinePix REAL 3D W1 Digital Camera

Fujifilm has released details of its FinePix REAL 3D System incorporating the FinePix REAL 3D W1 digital camera, the FinePix REAL 3D V1 digital viewer and 3D prints.

You don’t need to wear special 3D glasses to view its images. The system employs two lenses in the camera, spaced just like human eyes, and layers the two images together. When viewed on the FinePix REAL 3D V1 digital viewer (a more expensive replacement for the 3D glasses we used to know) the images are supposed to appear three-dimensional.

3D prints? Don’t really know how that works, but you’re supposed to be able to “keep your 3D images” with the Fujifilm 3D Print service.

How about 2D photography? Fujifilm says, “You can really take advantage of the fact that this is actually two digital cameras in one. The “Advanced 2D Mode” lets users take two different shots simultaneously by pressing the shutter once.”
