Firmware Version 1.01 Released for Pentax K-5

Pentax K-5 DSLR Camera

New firmware is available for the recently released Pentax K-5 DSLR camera. Version 1.01 makes a significant increase in the number of Raw format frames that can be captured when shooting in burst mode. Where it used to be only 8 frames, the Pentax K-5 can now capture 20 frames in burst mode in Raw format.

The updated firmware also improves stability for general performance such as exposure range on HyP mode.

The Pentax K-5, announced only last September, is a 16.3-megapixel DSLR camera which also offers video recording at 1080p/25fps. The K-5’s new 11-point SAFOX IX+ autofocus is also said to be better and faster than the system in the older Pentax K-7 model. Where the K-7 offered only a single-axis roll gauge, the K-5 now offers a dual-axis level gauge inherited from the 645D large-format camera for both tilt and roll indications.
