Nikon’s firmware update for their D3s DSLR corrects a compatibility issue with some memory cards where the camera would display the letters “CHA” in the top control panel and images could not be captured.

Nikon D3s Firmware Version 1.01 also changes the video mode display where the histogram is no longer visible while movies are recorded, and when connected to an external monitor using the ED-D2 cable the camera will show the Live View image on both the LCD display and the external monitor. During video recording the camera LCD now turns off.
