Filters 101: Let’s Do This Again

What are those filters again, and what do they do for our photography? Tutorial9 has a redux on this basic topic, revisiting the importance or non-importance of the various types of optical filters.

While digital photography and Photoshop allows us now to do most of the filters effects in post-production, there are still some things we can’t change in post-production, and filters can become a necessity.

The tutorial describes the use of the different types of filters: UV filters, Neutral Density filters, graduated ND filters, polarizing filters, macro filters, color filters, IR filters and even gives a tip on what to do with a stuck filter.
