Eye-Fi Wireless SD Card “Almost Ready” After Eons in the Making

Eye-Fi Wireless SD Card

After centuries of lying low, Eye-Fi is threatening us once again with its wireless idea of an SD memory card that incorporates Wi-Fi. We wrote about this last year, then they were lost in the mist of time, only to resurface this time to announce that the “highly anticipated” Wi-Fi SD card will debut this fall.

They have chosen Atheros Communications, Inc. to supply the single-chip AR6001GL radio-on-a-chip mobile WLAN solution to power its 802.11g connectivity.

The Eye-Fi gadget is billed as “technology that will change the way you take pictures.” So, hurry up already, my grandma would say, or we will change the way we look at Eye-Fi.
