Epson, Murata to Develop a Wireless Quick Battery Charger

Epson Murata Wireless Quick Battery Charger

Ten to 15 minutes is all it takes to charge mobile phones and other similar portable devices using the Wireless Quick Battery Charger System to be developed jointly by Japanese companies Seiko Epson Corp. and Murata Manufacturing Co., Ltd.

The device will be exhibited at the forthcoming CEATEC Japan 2007 Expo on October 2-6. It is expected not only to shorten the charging time from the 1-2 hours required by currently existing charging systems down to approximately ten to fifteen minutes, but also be able to charge multiple devices all at once.

Developers say they’ll need three years to perfect the product, so let’s wait for its formal debut in 2010.
