Breeze Systems has released DSLR Remote Pro v1.3, a software program that enables professional photographers to remotely control Canon DSLR cameras via a PC, using FireWire or USB cables. Its latest addition for tethered support is the Canon EOS 400D/Rebel XTi.
This is useful for studio photography where the user need to control his camera from a desktop PC or a laptop. The DSLR Pro enables the professional photographer to see large high quality previews of shots on his PC within seconds. It also gives the photographer unrivalled control of settings for Canon cameras during tethered operation.
One interesting aspect of the DSLR Pro is its ability to control multiple cameras from a single PC. This can be used to produce movie special effects where many cameras are fired simultaneously to freeze action and then view it from different angles; also in product and catalog photography requiring items to be photographed from different viewpoints; remote monitoring where several cameras need to be controlled from a single PC; and panorama photography.
