Don’t Touch that Sensor: Here’s Cleaning Kit from Green Clean

Green Clean

You mean I still have to clean the insides of my camera? Yes, my dear point-and-shooter. If you just recently upgraded to a DSLR, you should know that your digital SLR needs some TLC and sometimes this involves cleaning the image sensor. Careful not to touch it yet; it’s very sensitive.

You need the sensor cleaning kit from Green Clean. They offer 3 kits for varying purposes of sensor cleaning: the SC-4000 for the full size sensor, SC-4200 for small size sensor and the SC-4100 for the traveler kit.

There are two stages to the cleaning process. The first one uses a Mini Vac aerosol to create suction and works “contact-free” allowing the user to gently remove dust and friction particles from the sensor and mirror box. The Pick Up flexible tube is then used to lift the loosened particles. This first stage is usually adequate for most sensor cleaning jobs.

The second one is not for the faint-of-heart, and used only when necessary. It uses the Wet Sweeper to first soak the stubborn dirt, followed by the Dry Sweeper to pick it up immaculately. Follow instructions carefully if you have to resort to this one.
