Diving the Red Sea with the Olympus E-3

Nexus E3 Underwater Housing for Olympus E-3 DSLR

It’s a review of the Nexus E3, an underwater housing for the Olympus E-3 DSLR, as well as a test for how well the camera performs in actual diving conditions.

Underwater photographer Karin Brussaard goes for another dive, this time in the Red Sea, diving off the friendly town of Daha in the Sinai Desert.

Karin writes, “The Olympus E-3 and the Nexus housing make a great combination. The E-3 is a DSLR camera with fast auto focus and 11 focus points. The Olympus E3 Digital SLR has absolutely no problem with the light areas caused by the sun. The shutter lag makes Live View less suitable for moving objects. The Nexus E3 SLR housing is well built and has a number of special specifications. External flash units can be operated through electronic as well as optical cables.”

But more than the review for the equipment used, we invite the reader to enjoy the magnificent shots Karin took underwater. The Red Sea, which is not red at all, teems with colorful marine life waiting for the photographer to capture.
