Disposable Digital Cameras, Are They Any Good?

Disposable Digital Cameras from CVS and Dakota

Americans bought 200-million disposable cameras last year; I’ve used a few of them myself. And from my own view, they’re good enough for snapshots, grandma there blowing on her 85th birthday cake, the little tykes with ice cream on their faces, and yes, even underwater shots taken by disposable cameras that you can buy for just a few dollars.

Some disposable models have even gone digital, like the CVS Digital One-Time-Use Camera you can buy from CVS Online Pharmacy Store and the Dakota Digital Single-Use Camera from Ritz.

Consumers Reports recently tested these two models and came up with their assessment: these disposables are not there yet; they’re quite an expensive proposition and the print quality is not that great.

So, if you have to use disposable cameras in a pinch, go film.
