The Photo Safe II by Digital Foci is a portable mass storage device that you can bring along in your travels instead of lugging around a heavier laptop. The company says Photo Safe II lets you keep snapping away without worrying about losing important photos or running out of memory card space while on the road.
This storage device is available in 80GB or 160GB capacities, at $139 and $189, respectively. There is no LCD for viewing your pictures, but an LED screen provides information on the contents. It does not replace your laptop for viewing and editing purposes, but for portable storage on the road, the Photo Safe II is the way to go. Hey, its older brother the Photo Safe won the American Photo 2007 Editor’s Choice Award, didn’t it?
Photo Safe II copies the entire content of your memory card with its one-touch “Auto Copy†button, (copy speeds of up to 5.0MB/sec), so a full 1GB card can be copied in approximately 3½ minutes. Photo Safe II works with all popular card formats, including CF (Extreme III, IV, UDMA), MMC, SD/HC Card, miniSD, Memory Stick, MS PRO, MS Duo, MS PRO Duo, and xD-Picture card.
