Corsair Rolls Out Survivor Ruggedized Flash Drive

Corsair Survivor GT USB Rugged Flash Drive

Corsair has released its Survivor line of ruggedized USB flash drive designed to withstand the toughest abuse. The actual flash memory is encased with heavy rubber cushion inside a two-piece aluminum body. The end caps are rubber sealed for a watertight fit rated for water resistance up to a depth of 200 meters.

You might not do a lot of computing underwater, but sometimes your flash drive does make the trip with your clothes to the washing machine, and this is good protection.

The Corsair Survivor UFD can also survive the occasional dunk in a cup of coffee or an accidental two-storey drop down a flight of stairs.

The drives come in 8GB ($130) and 4GB ($60) capacities. These industrial-grade flash drives ship with 256-bit encryption software in case you’re paranoid about losing your data to industrial spies.
