London-based Computeractive PC magazine has launched its Digital Photographer of the Year competition, offering a total of £1,500 (about $3,000) worth of prizes from Canon.

To enter, just send one print-quality high resolution picture to photochallenge@computeractive.co.uk along with your full name, address and brief summary of where you took the photo. Top winner gets a Canon EOS 400D digital camera kit worth £1,000 while the four runners-up will each get a Canon PIXMA iP5300 photo printer.

Computeractive says there are no limits on genre or digital enhancement so the only restriction is your imagination. They’re looking for something truly different and extraordinary.

However, professionals are not allowed to join the contest; this is strictly for enthusiasts only. Deadline is May 11.
