Canon Updates Firmware for EOS Rebel XTi/400D SLR

Canon has released Firmware Version 1.0.5 for the Canon 400D. (a.k.a Rebel XTi), correcting the printing of the lens name when using PictBridge.

With the new firmware, Redeye 1 mode can now be selected when using the PIXMA iP6310D / iP6320D / iP6700D Photo Inkjet Printers, and the reliability of the communication with the optical Speedlite 380EX clip-on flash has also been improved.

The firmware update applies to cameras with firmware versions up to 1.0.4 installed.

How do you know your current firmware version? Turn the Power Switch , and press the button to display the menu. Press the Cross keys, and you will see the “Firmware Ver.X.X.X” at the end of the Set-up 2 shown in yellow, which is the currently installed firmware version number.
