Canon Releases Firmware 1.1.0 for EOS 400D/Rebel XTi

Canon Rebel XTi/EOS 400D

There’s a firmware update for the very popular Canon EOS 400D, also known as the Rebel XTi in the U.S.

If you own the XTi, Canon released today Firmware Version 1.1.0 for your DSLR adding support for the new Media Transfer Protocol (MTP) USB protocol and correcting errors in the Simplified Chinese menu screens. This update is designed for cameras with firmware up to version 1.0.5.

To check your firmware version, turn on your camera and press the Menu button. Go to SetUp2, and down below is your firmware version.

Important: Do not press any camera buttons during the firmware writing operation. Also keep in mind that a power failure during the firmware writing operation may disable the camera.
