Photographer/diver Karin Brussaard has posted her review of the Hugyfot HFC-40D underwater housing for the Canon EOS 40D digital SLR camera on the DigiDeep website.

Sure, the combination of the Canon 40D and the Hugyfot HFC 40D is an excellent one, says Karin. The system worked flawlessly underwater, all the knobs and buttons were in the right places and the leak detector worked very well, too well at times.

But we follow Karin more for her underwater adventures. This one’s done in Coiba Island in Panama, an isolated island that used to be occupied only by prisoners and their guards between 1919 and 2004.

The forested island is now a UNESCO World Heritage Site, protected from the onslaught of modern commerce. It is prohibited to build anything on the island.

As usual, Karin’s underwater photos are captivating; you get to share in the excitement as she encounters a yellow stonefish, a giant grouper and some other exotic underwater creatures.
