Book: The Moment It Clicks by Joe McNally

The Moment It Clicks by Joe McNally

If the great Scott Kelby can call him Teacher, then Joe McNally is probably the greatest photography guru since Ansel Adams. Now, it can be told: Scott took one of Joe’s photography classes and liked it (liked it? he worships the McNally!) and suggested that Joe should write a book.

That book has materialized. The Moment It Clicks: Photography secrets from one of the world’s top shooters is now off the press (New Riders Publishing, $50); it offers us a glimpse of the author’s fame as a sought-after educator. The book features outstanding images that inspire, with text that teaches the reader how to overcome imaging problems and offers tips about lighting and exposure.

“If you’re interested in learning about photography, it’s a good book for you. If you’re interested in just looking at some pictures and reading some stories, it’s a good book,” says Joe.

It’s a good thing the book is there for us who are not within 500 miles of Joe to attend his classes. Thanks, Joe; thanks, Scott.
