Art Capital Group Sues Getty for Interference in Leibovitz Deal

A New York judge has given the go-signal for the Art Capital Group to sue Getty Images for interference regarding ACG’s loan last year of $24 million to photographer Annie Leibovitz.

ACG alleged that Getty’s $1.1 million deal with Leibovitz last spring violated two binding legal contracts ACG made with the photographer.

According to ACG, Getty signed a confidentiality agreement last February to discuss the acquisition of Leibovitz’s collection. Getty then allegedly used the information—in violation of the confidentiality agreement—to make the side deal to represent Leibovitz.
