Aperture Visits Rwanda

Rwanda mountains

Join photographer Steve Simon as he ventures into Rwanda to document the African country’s richness and its poverty, in the latest installment of Aperture blogs on the website “Inside Aperture.”

He describes the country’s lush vegetation, rolling hills framed by mountains and active volcanoes, as well as its destitute population burdened by AIDS and the vestiges of the Genocide.

But Steve’s account is particularly useful for photographers who are starting to get serious with their craft, as he also describes his photographic workflow, from preparing stuff for a photo assignment that requires long distance travel, to storing and processing digital photos using Apple’s Aperture.
