Samsung popped yet another new compact today, the S85 in their designer S-series, but this one’s for entry-level buffs who want point-and-shoot convenience in a stylish package.
The new Samsung S85 packs 8 megapixels and features Shake Reduction and Face Recognition. It also boasts of the other attributes of the more expensive L83T: macro shots at 1cm, shutter speeds of up to 1/2000 sec, and a 2.5-inch LCD screen.
For about $50 less than the L83T, you get a bulkier camera but still compact enough to be pocketable. The S85 will hit the store shelves in September with a price tag of about $230.
