AKVIS SmartMask v.1.2 Promises to Save Time on Complex Selections

AKVIS SmartMask v.1.2

Akvis LLC has rolled out its first release of SmartMask plug-in v.1.2 for Windows and Macintosh. It is compatible with Adobe Photoshop, Photoshop Elements, Corel (Jasc) Paint Shop Pro and other image editing applications.

The new masking plug-in promises to save you time in making complex selections by utilizing a simple idea. It uses two pencils, red and blue, in the masking process; you draw a line with the blue pencil inside the object you want to select and with the red pencil – some lines outside the object, to define the areas that should be cut out.

Akvis claims the program then makes the selection you want, understanding which part of the image you want to keep and which to discard.

Are they just trying to make it sound so simple? If you’re not convinced, you may download the program and try it for free. $120 if you like it.
