Akvis has released its Sketch 2.1, a plugin for Adobe Photoshop and Corel Paint Shop Pro that converts a photo into a pencil sketch with just a few mouse clicks. The output imitates the technique of graphite or color pencil, charcoal or watercolor painting.
The application can be helpful to designers who need to quickly bring images to one style for a web-site or an advertisement booklet.
The company claims that Akvis Sketch provides a convincing result that comes very close to hand-drawn works of a human artist, even better than available standard filters in Photoshop or Paint Shop.
The new version adds compatibility with Photoshop Elements 5 and offers Italian and Japanese language interfaces.
