Advisory: Nikon Coolpix L23 Overheats

CoolPix-L23

Some units of the Nikon Coolpix L23 digital camera can overheat when the batteries are inserted, or the AC Adapter EH-65A is connected. Even with the camera turned off, excessive heat is generated in the top portion of the camera, which sometimes causes the top cover to become deformed.

There is no danger of fire there, according to Nikon, but if your camera is affected they want you to see their service center.

To determine if your COOLPIX L23 is affected by this Service advisory please contact Nikon Customer Relations at 1-800-Nikon US (1-800-645-6687), 8am to 2am (Eastern), 7-days-a-week. Nikon will need you to provide the camera’s serial number which is the 8-digit number on the bottom of the camera body.
