Adobe Photoshop Express to Strike Out Copyrights Grab Proviso

There is this one little issue about Adobe Photoshop Express regarding content, i.e., photos, that you upload to their site for editing and/or sharing. The fine print in the Terms of Use stipulates that you automatically grant Adobe license to your images, meaning you give up any copyright claim to the images you upload.

To quote Section 8, “you grant Adobe a worldwide, royalty-free, nonexclusive, perpetual, irrevocable, and fully sublicensable license to use, distribute, derive revenue or other remuneration from, reproduce, modify, adapt, publish, translate, publicly perform and publicly display such Content (in whole or in part) and to incorporate such Content into other Materials or works in any format or medium now known or later developed.”

Adobe senior product manager John Nack was quick to point this out in his blog and assures everybody that it is not the intention of his company to rob people of their copyright to their images. Their legal team is in the process of revising the objectionable provision and promises to inform the public about it once they have posted new terms.
