Today’s release of Adobe Creative Suite 3 includes two versions of Photoshop: Photoshop CS3 and Photoshop CS3 Extended.
Photoshop CS3 is a full version major upgrade of the popular image editing application, while Photoshop CS3 Extended offers everything of the former plus tools for 3D and motion graphics and image measurement and analysis.
The two versions are marketed toward different industry groups. Photoshop CS3 is intended for professional and serious amateur photographers as well as graphic and web designers. Photoshop CS3 Extended will be for film, video and multimedia professionals and graphic and web designers using 3D and motion as well as manufacturing professionals, medical professionals, architects and engineers and scientific researchers.
Adobe Photoshop CS3 will retail for $649 while the Extended version will sell for $999. Both will begin shipping in April.
