Adobe acquires Pixmantec…Sign of Lightroom progress?

As pc users anxiously await the release of Adobe Lightroom, the first sign of progress has been made public. Adobe has now acquired the technology assets of Pixmantec APS. As a result of this purchase Pixmantec RawShooter Premium will be discontinued. RawShooter Essentials the free version will continue to be available until Adobe Lightroom beta comes out for the Windows platform.

The reason for this purchase is to incorporate the power of RawShooter Premium’s RAW processing into the Adobe line of RAW processing tools.

So for Windows users, the wait is still on but we’re one day closer…

I hope it’s worth the wait!
