2008 FOTOFEST China Opens Today in Houston

Fotofest 2008 - 12th International Biennial of Photography and Photo-Related Art

The 12th International Biennial of Photography and Photo-Related Art opens today, March 7 – April 20, 2008, in Houston, Texas.

The theme is China, hence the name FOTOFEST China. The event will feature 10 exhibitions of Chinese historical and contemporary photography curated and commissioned by FotoFest for FOTOFEST2008. The photos were printed by artist GAO Lei, founder of Q-image in Beijing, using the latest generation of professional fine art printers.

Featured artists include AN Hong, GAO Bo, GUAN Ce, HONG Lei, JIANG Zhi, LIU Zheng, JIN Yongquan, QUI Zhijie, RONGRONG, SAN Mao, WANG Xu, ZHAO Liang, ZHENG Guogu, ZHUANG Hui CURATORS: ZHANG Li and WU Huang.

Sub-theme of the FotoFest is Transformations, and the exhibit amply evokes the changes that have been taking place in China with photos taken between 1994 and 1997.
